My Journey to the trail has been in development for most of my life. As an Eagle Scout, I used to spend my whole summers outside. Days and Nights camping, hiking, and backpacking grew a love of the outdoors. So it's no wonder that when I read Bill Bryson's, A Walk in The Woods, that I was enamored with the idea of one day hike the trail my self. Now that I am married and settled with a home in Sterling, VA, I am at a point where I can fulfill that dream. Both to prove to myself that I can still do it and have the trail changing experience. As my journey begins, I leave behind my current life as a husband and son, as educator.
